Festival of Colors!

This was awesome.  Its amazing to me that this all happens in Spanish Fork Utah of all places.  I must admit it was a bit frustrating to photograph this madness.  The whole time I had my camera in a zip-lock bag, so I was just waving my camera around like a madman clicking like crazy hoping to capture something that resembled a photograph.  It was a mess, wipe lens, click, click, click, wipe lense, cough lungs out, wipe eyes, breath, click, click, click.  It was hard but fun.  I hope you enjoy the photos. They are pretty random and out of focus, but hey it was a blast.

Indian Creek!

Dan all racked up and ready to go. This photo is a little out of context but I really like this photo.  If I had a photo like this it would be on my obituary.  I mean look at how happy that guy is!  This is the life!  This is what its all about!  This is happiness!

Alyssa ripping it up.

I love these photos! Thanks goes out to Alyssa for snapping a few off for me.  This was my first lead in the Creek and it was good hard fun.  This was really quite difficult for me, lots of pain and lack of good skills.  I loved everything about it, including my beached whale approach to the top-out!

This is a cool shot of the crack and the cam placement. This lie back section was slightly overhung and bulging.  Intense on lead. It schooled me. 5.9 crack is hard!

This is classic Dan. Orange Gatorade...

Dan sporting some pretty trashed gloves after his long brawl with our first crack in the Creek.
Blessed chains!
Alyssa laughing at Dan on his epic burn.  (Honestly I am so glad Dan put that thing up.  It was super hard for us sport climbers.)  I should say that we made huge progress in our crack climbing skills in just a couple of burns.  A few goes and we were cruzing this thing thanks to   Dans hard work! Good work Dan.

Grrrr... I wish I had a photo of Dans face when he pulled his hands face out of this crack. It was a look of a suprise laced with intense pain. Funny stuff.  I must admit it hurts pretty bad.
Alyssa belongs in a Petzl catalogue...

I love the Creek, just look at the setting...
I am with you Dan, sporting a huge trad rack can put a smile on your face!
We had a super huge mess of gear.  I think we had close to 60 cams.  Gearing up was a bit nuts.
The pre-crack gear up ritual, tape, rack, shoes...

Alyssa on her perch.

Taping up for the fight.
Alyssa was a little frustrated that she could not catch herself a pet lizard while she was belaying so I snapped a photo for her, though its not quite the same as the real thing. They were pretty amazing to watch.  Nimble little creature.
Climbing on Potash. Good times....

The roadside ambient of Potash is a little different- Fun.
